Summary

This monograph addresses current issues—particularly in light of relevant EU requirements— issues related to changes in the participation of women and men in paid and unpaid work, the quality of the legal framework as a guarantee for achieving equal pay for work of equal value, the creation of the necessary tools and their use to measure gender pay gaps, the decomposition of the factors determining gender pay gaps, the distribution of women’s and men’s participation in unpaid household activities, and the opportunities for reducing identified inequalities through the development of labor and social infrastructure to reconcile paid and unpaid work. An attempt has been made to conduct a comprehensive study of these issues; conclusions have been systematized, and corresponding measures, policies, and solutions have been proposed to reduce gender inequality.
