Summary
In theBulgarian-Polish Comparative Grammar. Volume 7 The Semantic Category of Time , for the first time, many phenomena that have not been noticed and described in previous grammars of the Polish and Bulgarian languages are considered at an academic level. The volumes of the Bulgarian-Polish Comparative Grammar. Volume 7 The Semantic Category of Time are based on logical-mathematical theories: the theory of quantification, the modern theory of processes, known as Petri nets, the theory of logical predicate-argument structures. For the semantic description, a “direct approach to semantics” is used, as is the case in the works of Russell and Burwise and Perry on situational semantics. In volume 7 of the BPSG, the reader will find previously unknown descriptions of lexical, morphological and syntactic means in their capacity as expressions of semantic categories: of time, partly of modality and definiteness/indefiniteness.
